Ross and Monica walked down the hallway of their apartment building.
It was Monica's ninety-year-old grandmother's birthday, and they were on their way to her apartment.
Ross, in particular, was pleased to be going. He enjoyed spending time with his grandmother.
When they arrived, their grandmother opened the door with a smile. Her response to seeing them was a warm hug for both of them.
Inside, the apartment was filled with the aroma of freshly baked cake and coffee.
Monica's grandmother had prepared everything herself.
After exchanging birthday greetings, they all sat down to enjoy the delicious treats.
Ross carefully explained the science behind how the cake was baked, much to his grandmother's amusement.
Monica, meanwhile, stretched her legs discreetly under the table, a habit she couldn't seem to break.
They spent the rest of the afternoon chatting, laughing, and celebrating. It was a simple celebration, but filled with love and warmth.
Later, as Ross and Monica walked back down the hallway, both felt a deep sense of happiness.
