Ross and Monica were at "The Lazy Harp", discussing Monica's latest fitness challenge.
"I need your permission to smash your chocolate stash," Monica declared.
Ross, mid-sentence about the migratory process of the European robin, blinked. "Wait, what?"

"It's for my new cleanse," Monica explained. "No sugar for a week. And since I know you bought a family-sized bar..."
Ross sighed dramatically. He'd been looking forward to that chocolate. "Fine. You have my permission. But don't tell Rachel. She'll want to join the cleanse."

"Oh, no. This is just between us. It wouldn't be fair to ask a senator, or anyone else, to give up chocolate," Monica agreed.
She imagined the sheer chaos if Rachel decided to give up sweets. It would involve a lot of glitter, inspirational quotes, and probably a life-sized cardboard cutout of a chocolate bar.
Ross considered explaining how senators were probably used to avoiding sweet temptations. but decided against it.
He imagined the explanation would be very long and full of details no one cared about, not even him.

As Monica prepared to smash his precious chocolate bar into oblivion, Ross watched with a mournful expression. He knew he would never look at another robin the same way again.
"We could go to the park to exercise," he suggests while looking at his phone.
"No," she replies, "I need to finish this process first."
