Formulare Domande Complesse
In inglese, le domande complesse sono domande che contengono una frase principale e una frase subordinata interrogativa. La frase subordinata inizia con parole come 'who', 'what', 'where', 'when', 'why', 'how', 'if' o 'whether'.
Queste parole sono chiamate pronomi interrogativi o avverbi interrogativi.
Struttura delle Domande Complesse
La struttura generale di una domanda complessa è:
Frase principale + Pronome/Avverbio interrogativo + Frase subordinata
A differenza delle domande semplici, nelle domande complesse la struttura della frase subordinata segue le regole delle frasi affermative, ovvero soggetto + verbo. Non si inverte l'ordine di soggetto e verbo come nelle domande dirette.
Esempi
Do you know where the nearest cafe is?Could you tell me where I can find a good bookstore?Do you know when the next bus leaves?I wonder why the sky is blue.
Nota: Se la domanda complessa inizia con 'who', 'what', 'which' o 'whose' e la frase interrogativa si riferisce al soggetto, la struttura della frase subordinata sarà come quella di una frase affermativa, senza ausiliari.
Do you know who baked this cake? (Chi ha preparato questa torta?)
In questo caso, "who" è il soggetto della frase subordinata "baked this cake" e non è necessario aggiungere un ausiliare.
