Vocabulary 65 - A2: Impariamo nuove parole!

Ciao ragazzi! Benvenuti alla Lezione 65, parte dell'Unità 17 'Dalla Teoria alla Pratica' del nostro corso A2. In questa lezione, arricchiremo il vostro vocabolario con cinque nuove parole utilissime: 'one hundred' (cento), 'rat' (ratto), 'switch' (interruttore), 'tie' (cravatta) e 'career' (carriera). Ross and Rachel sat in "The Lazy Harp", looking at the menu.[tooltip]Ross e Rachel erano seduti al "The Lazy Harp", guardando il menu.[/tooltip]
Ross said, "I'll have the fish and chips. One hundred percent." Rachel smiled. "I'm not sure. I can’t decide!"[tooltip]Ross disse: "Prendo fish and chips. Cento per cento." Rachel sorrise. "Non sono sicura. Non riesco a decidermi!"[/tooltip]
A small rat ran across the floor. Rachel jumped and screamed![tooltip]Un piccolo topo corse sul pavimento. Rachel saltò e urlò![/tooltip]
Ross didn’t even notice.[tooltip]Ross non se ne accorse nemmeno.[/tooltip]
Rachel said, "There was a rat!”, “I saw a rat!"[tooltip]Rachel disse: "C'era un topo!", "Ho visto un topo!"[/tooltip]
Ross, calmly looking at the salt and pepper on the table said, "Hm, I think the pepper and salt shakers need new lids."[tooltip]Ross, guardando con calma il sale e il pepe sul tavolo, disse: "Hm, penso che le saliere e le pepiere abbiano bisogno di nuovi coperchi."[/tooltip]
Rachel rolled her eyes and picked up her phone.[tooltip]Rachel alzò gli occhi al cielo e prese il telefono.[/tooltip]
"I'm switching tables," she said. "Come on, if you want to keep your career as a teacher, you can't be friends with someone who likes sitting near rats."[tooltip]"Cambio tavolo," disse. Ross quickly grabbed his napkin and tie, and followed her. “Actually Rachel, it makes perfect sense why the rat was there. The combination of the lighting, plus…”[tooltip]Ross afferrò rapidamente il suo tovagliolo e la sua cravatta, e la seguì. "In realtà Rachel, ha perfettamente senso perché il topo era lì. Rachel looked at the table and saw two empty coffee mugs with some tea left, "Hey Ross, do you want to drink the rest of my tea?"[tooltip]Rachel guardò il tavolo e vide due tazze di caffè vuote con un po' di tè rimasto, "Ehi Ross, vuoi bere il resto del mio tè?"[/tooltip]
"No, thanks. I'll order my tea," said Ross."[tooltip]"No, grazie. Ordinerò il mio tè," disse Ross.[/tooltip]
Just then, Monica walked in and joined them. Monica stretched her arms and said, "I just ran one hundred meters. Did you know that running burns…"[tooltip]Proprio allora, Monica entrò e si unì a loro. Monica allungò le braccia e disse: "Ho appena corso cento metri. Sapevi che correre brucia..."[/tooltip]
Ross looked at Rachel and winked. Rachel gave him a look that clearly said, "Here we go again."[tooltip]Ross guardò Rachel e le fece l'occhiolino. Rachel gli lanciò un'occhiata che diceva chiaramente: "Ci risiamo."[/tooltip]
